Man of the match: Karim Adiyemi

Manchester City secure their top spot in Champions League Group G despite being held to a goalless draw with Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
This result means Pep Guardiola’s side move onto 11 points at the top of the group with Dortmund also securing their qualification to the knockout rounds in 2nd place due to their superior head to head record with Sevilla.
A penalty save from Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel to deny Riyad Mahrez on 58 minutes was the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock, in a game where both teams struggled to produce any sort of quality in the final third.
The home side looked the more threatening the in first half, with Karim Adiyemi and Youssoufa Moukoko causing a lot of problems for the City backline.
The best opportunity fell to Moukoko, who should’ve put his side ahead after 36 minutes when Adeyemi played the ball across the 18 yard-area to the Cameroon international who placed his shot wide of Stefan Ortega’s goal.
This result also means City keep up their impressive defensive record in this year’s competition with the Citizens having not conceded a goal from open play in their first 5 games.
Dortmund finish off their group stages with a trip to the Danish capital as they take on Copenhagen whilst City end their campaign at home against Sevilla, who are staring down the barrel of another drop into the Europa League round of 32.
